3 Image Tips to Remember in the Music Business~ Thursday, Sep 23 2010

When we think of our careers and where we want to go we rarely think of image as one of the keys to getting us there. However image can make or break a deal in the music or entertainment industry. In a perfect world it shouldn’t matter what you look like, or what you have but in reality it is all about having not only the talent but the right look at that time. Below are 3 image tips you should remember before stepping out into the entertainment industry.

Do your research: Yes, research on image, and style. Looking at the top leaders in your talent or industry will tell you what the audiences are responding to now. Additionally looking into the different career levels and their images will help you determine what helps with longevity after all that is the ultimate goal.

If you are planning to be singer and singing is your talent, no matter if you are male or female look at the artists that have reached platinum or higher and been in the field for 10-20 years. What makes them stand out from the crowd.

Analyze your current look: Take the time out to review your overall image. Determine what message you want to portray to your audience, and what feels comfortable. The truth is image is often the most difficult part of getting a new artist started. Why? Because you need to play to the audiences but you need to still be yourself while doing it!

Gather the opinions of outsiders: Taking the time to ask others what they think of your image and what they would change doesn’t make you look “bad, or inexperienced” and it will give you a unbiased opinion. The truth is we all think we look good in what we pick out but this isn’t all about you, it has to be about your fans as well.

Remember that though it is your image and expression it is also about how you want your audiences to perceive you and what they want in an artist. The entertainment industry has its corks but if you are truly serious about wanting it, you will take the extra steps needed to get there and listen to your constructive feedback with open ears and eyes!

Top 3 Things To Perfect Before You Can Make it Big! Thursday, Sep 23 2010

Dirget

For many of us our ultimate dream is to become a icon, a celebrity that everyone else wishes they could be. However before you start pushing for your dream there are a few things that you should have done when getting started.

Perfecting your Talent: While we all wish that we didn’t need any practice and it would just come to us, the reality is having talent and keeping it are two totally different things. It is important as with any form of talent whether its sports, dance, vocals, instrumentals, juggling, or whatever you must continue to practice and use it. Or else it may die out.

Perfecting Yourself: Whether its the big screen or the big stage you need to perfect your own image before you run to the for front. The words “First impressions” are there for a reason. It is important that you not only take pride in your image but keep it up everyday, you never know who you’ll meet or when you will meet them.

Perfecting Your Business: While your talent maybe singing you still need to know the ins and outs of the industry. In fact the more you know about the field or area you are going into the better off you will be. It’s like being a supervisor for a plant. If you don’t know what it is that each employee must do, how do you know they are doing it right or doing anything at all? Remember to educate yourself about everything you can. This will in sure that you are protected. After all who better to protect your interests than you!

Though we all want to make things happen right away, and are searching for the money in our field it is good business to be sure you have all your ducks in a row before you head in full force. Taking an extra 6 months-to a year should not be the end of the world after all you still have your whole life ahead of you.

Michael Jackson tops Google/Yahoo searches 2009; Get the Top 10 Internet searches~ Wednesday, Dec 2 2009

The search companies released their annual lists on Tuesday as an effort to provide a cultural snapshot of what held the public’s interest over the past year. Jackson topped both Google’s fastest rising and Yahoo’s overall searches, but he was the only commonality between those two Top 10 rankings. After is passing this June.

Google’s Top list- Michael Jackson, Facebook (2), Twitter (4), the New Moon movie (6), Lady Gaga (7), Windows 7 (8), Vietnamese portal dantri.com.vn (9) and Portuguese SMS website Torpedo Gratis. Two social network sites also placed in the Top 10: Spain’s Tuenti (3) and Turkey’s Sanalika (5).

Yahoo’s Top Search List in order-Jackson, Twilight, WWE, Megan Fox, Britney Spears, Japanese anime character Naruto, American Idol, Kim Kardashian, NASCAR and online role-playing game Runescape.

Yahoo said the dominance of pop culture in the searches shows that the Internet is being used largely for entertainment purposes.

Google also released a list of Canada’s fastest-rising searches as part of its “Zeitgeist” rankings, which partly reflect an increasing tendency to use search engines in place of browser bookmarks. On the Canadian list, Jackson barely made the Top 10, ranking ninth overall. The list, in order, was Twitter, Blackberry, Yahoo Mail, the Desjardins financial tool AccèsD, Craigslist, Natasha Richardson, Justin Bieber, New Moon, Michael Jackson and Google Street View.

Others think differently-

American Idol was first debuted in June of 2002, and was called “The American Idol: Search for a Superstar” however it first aired in Britain in 2001 created by Simon Fuller and than brought the concept to the United States. Though it took of like a wild flower and had 7 successful years. Many have worked up great distain for the music manager Simon Cowell and his blunt, straight to the point, bordering on rude comments. So what’s next for Simon the coming months will tell, and we will keep you posted~
